Анотація

У статті розглядається логіка теорій змови в епоху Інтернету. Автори наголошують, що по-ширення використання Інтернету збільшило обсяги та різноманітність політичної інформації, що створило безпрецедентні можливості спілкуватися з прихильниками про поточні події. Ши-рока доступність контенту, що надається користувачами в соціальних мережах Інтернету, по-легшує звʼязок людей навколо спільних інтересів, переконань та розповідей. Однак Інтернет також дозволяє швидко поширювати анекдотичні чутки та теорії змови, які часто викликають швидкі, великі, але часто наївні соціальні реакції. Саме Інтернет дозволяє теоріям змови подо-рожувати далі та швидше, ніж раніше. Віра в теорії змови зменшує довіру до традиційних за-собів масової інформації та державних установ, навіть якщо вони не повʼязані з теоріями змови.
