Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format (doc or docx).
  • Where available, URLs (DOI) for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1,5-spaced; uses a 14-point Times New Roman font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • Author details (name, degree, affiliation, position, email, etc.) have been removed from the submission file. Detailed instructions for anonymizing the file are available at the upload stage.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The article's length is 20,000 – 40,000 characters, including references, while for a review or report, it's 10,000 – 20,000 characters, including references. The character count does not include abstracts, bibliography, and/or References.
  • Keywords (maximum 7 keywords)
  • Sources in the article are formatted exclusively in Roman (Latin) script according to the requirements of the Harvard reference system and the rules described in the Reference Guidelines.
  • References in the text should be placed in parentheses using the author's surname and publication year (e.g., Surname, year). They must be formatted in Roman (Latin) script according to the requirements of the Harvard referencing style.
  • The submission complies with the requirements for scientific articles.

Author Guidelines

Article structure

  • UDC;
  • Title in Ukrainian;
  • Abstract (in Ukrainian) clearly presenting the problem, aims, methods, and results (900-1000 characters with spaces);
  • Keywords in Ukrainian (maximum 7 keywords);
  • Title in English [1];
  • Extended Abstract in English (for articles in English, provide an extended summary in Ukrainian) – Abstract[2]; Up to 1 page (1800-2000 characters with spaces);
  • Keywords in English (maximum 7 keywords)

[1] The English translation of the article title should not contain any transliterations, except for untranslatable proper nouns, names of devices, and other objects with proper names; untranslatable slang should also not be used. In the title, all significant words (except articles and prepositions) should begin with a capital letter. For example: "From National Interest to Global Reform: Patterns of Reasoning in British Foreign Policy Discourse."

[2] Abstract. The English abstract should be informative (without general phrases), original (not a repetition of the abbreviated abstract provided in Ukrainian), and substantial.

If the article is written in a language other than Ukrainian or English, the aforementioned sections must first be provided in the original language, followed by Ukrainian and English versions. The extended abstract (Abstract) should be submitted in both Ukrainian and English (1800-2000 characters with spaces).

Articles

Requirements for Scientific Articles

The Editorial Board accepts for consideration only original articles that meet high scientific quality standards,:

  • The paper must present a clear formulation of the scientific problem and the research question, along with a detailed description of the methodology used to obtain the results;
  • An overview of the extent to which the problem has been addressed by other researchers, clearly highlighting what distinguishes this study from already existing ones;
  • The submissions must not duplicate previously published research results;
  • The author's main claims must be thoroughly argued, and the results of the analysis and conclusions must logically follow from the research aim and objectives.
  • The manuscript must strictly adhere to the requirements of the Harvard reference system and include correct DOI links for the cited scientific sources.
  • The recommended length of the article is from 20,000 to 40,000 characters.

Reference Guidelines

All articles submitted to the journal must follow the strict formatting requirements of the Harvard referencing system.

Source Language Rules

  • English and Latin-Script Sources: All sources originally published in English or other Latin-alphabet languages must be formatted using the standard, general Harvard style guidelines.
  • Ukrainian and Non-Latin Sources: Sources originally published in Ukrainian (or other non-Latin scripts) must strictly apply the specific Transliteration, Translation, and Language Designation rules detailed below to comply with Web of Science requirements.

General Requirements (For Ukrainian & Non-Latin Sources Only)

  • All references must be presented in Roman (Latin) script. Source materials originally published in Ukrainian or other non-Latin alphabets must be fully transliterated.
  • Provide the official English title (or a formal academic translation if an official one is absent) within square brackets [...] immediately following the transliterated source title.
  • The original publication language must be explicitly noted at the very end of the reference string as (in Ukrainian).

Typography & Technical Rules (Applies to All Sources)

  • A DOI or permanent URL must be appended to the end of the citation where available. Do not italicize identifiers.
  • A comma is strictly required immediately following the closing parenthesis of the publication year, e.g., (2020),.
  • Italicize standalone works only (e.g., Book titles, Journal names, Report titles, and Theses).
  • Enclose internal titles (e.g., Journal article titles, Book chapter titles, and Webpage documents) in double quotation marks "".
  • Use p. for a single page or pp. for ranges. Do not include spaces after the period, and write ranges in full (e.g., pp.10-15).
