Анотація

Створений після Другої світової війни, американсько-японський військово-політичний союз є важливим для інтересів обох країн в Азії. Останніми роками більш наполегливий Китай, Північна Корея з ядерною зброєю та інші виклики, підштовхнули альянс до внесення історичних коректив, включаючи підвищення ролі японських військових. У статті розглянуто основні напрямки співробітництва між США та Японією як військово-політичних союзників на сучасному етапі. Зокрема, висвітлено механізм регулярних та тимчасових зустрічей та діалогів з питань безпеки в межах американсько-японського військово-політичного союзу. Також у статті розкрито особливості співпраці двох держав у сфері розвитку технології ПРО, розробки та спільного виробництва військового потенціалу, а також у космічній галузі.
