The purpose of the work is to comprehensively analyze modern concepts of studying ethnic minorities in Ukraine and determine their main methodological approaches. The research methodology is based on a combination of the principles of historicism, systematics and objectivity. During the research, general scientific methods and profile methods of historical science were used – chronological, typological, comparative-historical; the method of specific historiographic analysis and synthesis. The scientific novelty of the research lies in determining modern concepts of studying ethnic minorities living in the territory of Ukraine. Conclusions: The modern concept of studying ethnic minorities in Ukraine is formed at the intersection of interdisciplinary approaches, including history, sociology, ethnology, political science and law. Attention is paid to the theoretical foundations of studying ethnic identity, cultural heritage and integration of ethnic communities into the socio-political space of Ukraine. The conclusions on the modern concept of ethnic minority research in Ukraine indicate significant progress in understanding the above-mentioned issues. The main methodological approaches used in the research characterize the rapid development of analytical techniques, which contributes to a deeper understanding of the relationships between ethnic groups and society as a whole. The introduction of these concepts into scientific practice in Ukraine contributes not only to academic development, but also to the formation of a constructive dialogue platform for joint solutions to ethnocultural issues in a multiethnic society. In modern historiography, the study of ethnic minorities has been significantly enriched with comprehensive approaches. This has made it possible to expand the problem field of research and to more deeply clarify the problem of ethnic identity, socio-cultural integration, language policy, legal status of minorities, interethnic communications and regional features of ethnic diversity. An important aspect of modern scientific research is also the study of the transformations of ethnic minorities during different historical periods under the influence of various factors that took place during the historical development of our country.
