Перевороти в Західній Африці: чи є кінець регіональній нестабільності?

Анотація

У статті аналізуються внутрішні, регіональні та глобальні чинники серії військових переворотів у Західній Африці, що відбулися в 2020 - на поч. 2024 рр. Виокремлено низку спільних проблем у державах регіону, серед яких незадовільний соціально-економічний розвиток, недиверсифікованість національних економік, демографічний вибух, корумпованість та незрілість політичних систем тощо. Аналіз регіональних викликів і загроз засвідчив, що проблеми безпеки притаманні Західній Африці, зокрема через діяльність джихадистських угруповань у Сахелі, а також сепаратизм у Малі. Визначено, що регіональні та міжнародні механізми співробітництва виявилися неспроможними протидіяти зростаючій нестабільності в Західній Африці. Встановлено, що на тлі переворотів відбуваються зміни в архітектурі регіональної інтеграції, а також що зростає роль нових акторів (Росії, Туреччини, Китаю) через втрату легітимності присутності Франції в країнах регіону.
